How cold is it?
How cold is it tonight in New York City, you ask? Well, according to weather.com it’s currently 1 degree Fahrenheit, though with the wind it feels like -19.
But those are just numbers. How cold is it, really?
Well, Jenny’s apartment is well heated, and the windows are tightly-fitted, double-paned glass. And there’s frost on the inside of the window all around the frame:

This is crazy, not to mention the fact that I’m headed back to Ithaca on Monday, where I wouldn’t be suprised if my house is one big icicle.

Hey, it’s Priti. Don’t know if you remember me, but you were my TA for Cornell’s soph. honors program a few years back. Apparently I still had your screenname and was curious and found this on your profile.
Anyway. I’m in NH now, and it is pretty freakin’ cold here too. The wind chill was -32 F. But frost inside the windows, that’s impressive.
People at home (PA) were complaining about -11…
keep in touch,
Priti

Josh:
If it’s true that midwest weather is a preview of what the East Coast will get, be ready for more brutal cold. We’re almost routinely getting lows in the single digits and on 2 or 3 days have gotten highs in the single digits. Yeah, the indoor frost and steamy windows are kinda freaky.
Enjoy!!!
