So, my father (who lives in Ft. Lauderdale) has been posting on his blog about his preparations for Hurricane Frances – worth reading, if for no other reason than to remind us northerners why we should be thankful to be well out of the hurricane zone…

Y’all are officially the blogging-est family I’ve ever met! Now not only do I have to keep up with you and your cousin, but also your dad?!? The pressure of it all! BTW, I kind of like that your dad was counting down to his retirement pretty much simultaneously to you counting down to your dissertation defense. There’s a kind of career symmetry to it.
Here’s hoping that dangers, both internal and external, steer a wide path around your family in the future.
