Webhosting?
So, one of the myriad reasons I’ve been letting this space go to seed is that my current host (Neureal) has been having all sorts of troubles…database connections have been unreliable at times, and the Wordpress software itself seems often seems abysmally slow. That in mind, I’m shopping around for a new host for this and my various freelance projects; right now, Dreamhost is looking pretty sweet. Any recommendations?

I’ve been happy with Bluehost, but I’m far from a power user, if that’s what you need.

I use Cornerhost to host my sites. I like Michal’s hosting so much I took advantage of a limited opportunity to buy lifetime service. But that also means I have a $261.36 credit for services (about 16 months of a shell account!) previously pruchased, which I’m offering for $150. Great service and a great deal.

I use CrystalTech and they’re pretty savvy. 1and1 also looks like a good host.

I use Dreamhost and think they are great. Lots of features and their system is quite easy to manage, even though it’s not flawless. But then again, who is… Promo codes are easy to find. I can generate a $97 off code for you (the best one), just contact me.

I’d recommend ICDSoft. Very affordable, and lots of features. Not sure if they do shell access, but I’ve never needed it for even relatively advanced funcationality. For more info, see: http://icdsoft.com/

I’ve been with Dreamhost for 5 years – no complaints here. Bonus feature you might be interested in – one click Wordpress install included in your hosting fee.

I too use Dreamhost from last 2 years and I think till now I haven’t face any major issue with this. I am quite happy with that. It’s also free. What’s say?
